Animated water droplet textures using Katana procedural nodes. Revealing before and after FX simulation were applied.
I enjoyed working with an amazing and talented team at Stellar Creative Lab in Vancouver BC. I joined mid-production as a surfacing supervisor. I was tasked to find a solution to have the water streaks on the plastic container animate for the rain sequence in the first episode. I worked alongside the talented Ignacio Bolaños Ávila who textured the container and droplets. We used procedural Katana nodes and custom masks that Igancio helped generate in Substance Designer. Getting the droplet animation timing was a bit tricky. However, we managed to find the perfect flow to please the client.
It was a pleasure working with all the talented people over at Stellar Creative Lab in Vancouver. I was lucky to be a part of a team that was passionate about their craft and always strived to meet high expectations.
